Anna Skodbo is the talented fashion designer and founder behind Phannatiq, launched in 2010 the label presents bold, stylish and sustainable designs for women and men. Anna grew up around creative communities in Scotland and spent time in Norway studying costume design, theatre make-up and also doing some freelance work, after returning to Britain Anna decided to pursue a degree in fashion and upon completion launched Phannatiq.
Collections are regularly presented in London and Paris each season during fashion week and designs are inspired by urban industrial decay essentially focusing on day to day life in east London where the company is based. Phannatiq designs are known for flattering the body and for having a sassy anti-fit whilst aways maintaining high ethical standards throughout the entire manufacturing process including the use of traditional screen-printing techniques. In line with her ethical beliefs, Anna ensures all pieces are timeless and non-seasonal so pieces can be added to wardrobe staples as oppose to being constantly refreshed.
Anna Skodbo says “I make clothes that can be styled up or styled down and can be worn by anyone of any size, age and gender. I try to make my clothes unisex and where possible, avoid traditional sizing, so people can decide how fitted or baggy they want a garment based on their style. For example, we have tops where one size looks great on anyone from size 6 to a size 20.”
Keen to help the next generation of designers and business leaders, Anna lectures and supports students by sharing her successes and insight in maintaining integrity within businesses based solely on profit particularly those dominated by disposable fashion.
