To reach the lodge, it takes a 2.5 hour comfortable motorboat ride from Coca city down the Napo River. From arrival point on the river you are then transferred to paddle-canoes to reduce environmental impact and preserve the local wildlife and forests, you then travel on to the Ananou Lake through a narrow black-water creek and finally see the red cabins of the Napo Wildlife Centre.
The main hall of the Napo Wildlife Centre is a central structure where guests can meet, dine and exchange stories of their various experiences during their stay. There is also a library, fully stocked bar and restaurant. Guest can participate in a range of activities including canoe riding, walking forest trails, Kichwa Anangu Community visits and for bird lovers there are more than 610 species of birds that you can watch in their natural habitat. Napo Wildlife Centre are also proud of their new 40 metre Ecological tower built entirely by locals with raw materials found locally, the natural habitat of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest can observed and the upper floors will provide breathtaking panoramic views of the complex, surrounding lake, forest and passing wildlife.
For comfort and convenience electricity in the lodge is provided by hybrid systems of solar panels and silent diesel engines that provide 24 hour electricity with little impact on the environment. There are also plenty of 110 -volt outlets in cabins and living room areas should they be needed for devices.
