SeeMe – United Nations Orange Heart

The SeeMe Orange Heart was selected in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the UN Trust Fund to end violence against women and worn here by Nicole Kidman.

Ethical luxury jewellery brand SeeMe is verified fair trade and produces sleek heart shaped jewellery and accessories whilst also providing ethical sourcing for other fashion brands.

Born while walking through the souks and back streets of Tunis, following almost two decades of reporting on women’s conditions in the Middle East and North African regions Catherine Occhio, SeeMe’s founder, decided to take matters in her own hands. Through her reports and travels she, unsurprisingly, discovered that being a single mother in the region equals being unsuitable for work, for marriage and for society. SeeMe was therefore created as a safe haven, training centre and work place for women otherwise deemed lost, often single mothers, who have suffered violence and were ostracized from their communities. Through training SeeMe women learn the craft of jewellery making following ancient Tunisian techniques therefore, while fostering their country’s traditions they also secure a workplace for themselves and a future for their families.

On top of being a safe resort and source of income for survivors in Tunisia, SeeMe strives to have a positive of influence on the established brands in the fashion world by supporting an ethical approach to their sourcing procedures. In recent times SeeMe has collaborated with high profile fashion brands such as Chloe, Karl Lagerfeld, Missoni, Trussardi and Tommy Hilfiger. SeeMe hearts are worn by the likes of Nicole Kidman, Suzy Menkes, Sarah Burton, Angelina and Rosita Missoni, Laudomia Pucci and Alessandra Ambrosio. In 2014 SeeMe created the #heartmovement which sees high profile fashion influencers become like brand ambassadors for the hear jewellery pieces. The hearts are at the core of all collections and act like links of a love chain to replace the chain of violence. Wear one. Give one. Support one.

In 2016, SeeMe created the Orange Heart, selected as the signatory piece for the 20th anniversary of the UN Trust Fund to end violence against women and worn by Nicole Kidman in support. In 2018 SeeMe was award the prestigious Palladio Award for Social Corporate Responsibility in Jewellery and launched a strategic partnership with Marella from Max Mara group. In 2021, in collaboration with Chloé, SeeMe is one of the producers of the first fair trade verified capsule collection of the luxury industry.

Sparking a revolution in both the fashion and the fair trade worlds, SeeMe has successfully combined the two by creating products that feel good on the body and soul.
